Habitat: Found in nutrient-poor bogs, acidic wetlands, and peatlands, where it grows in sunny, waterlogged conditions.
Range: Native to eastern and northern North America, from Canada through much of the eastern United States, with populations extending into the southeastern U.S. There are small populations in my home state of Ohio that I visit annually.
Diet: Traps insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates in its water-filled leaves, absorbing nutrients as they decompose.
